GREAT Airline Fare Search Site

Most of you already know about Kayak.  It's a great site to search for low fares.  It can give you an idea of when the deals are and a ballpark on price.  Keep in mind that it only searches the major carriers.  Southwest and others do not appear in their search.  It always pays to check the low fare airlines afterwards for even better deals.

It doesn't search all of the airlines either though, but does a nice job of sorting flights by their "agony".

I prefer to use these "search" sites when looking for fares instead of Orbitz, Travelocity, etc. because sometimes these sites add a booking fee.  It's hit or miss though, so your mileage may vary.

CAB Hint!  When booking Virgin Atlantic to hop over the pond, book through Continental's site site instead for a better fare.  You'll get the same ticket, but will just be buying it through Continental as a codeshare flight.
